• Game Woes...

From Shurato@21:2/148 to All on Saturday, July 11, 2026 15:14:00
Gemini suggested Ashura's something, then told me there wasn't a pc version. I'd already told it the problems I had with Vanquish (couldn't get through tutorial) and Guardian's of the Galaxy (major trouble shooting, ended up the crashing was due to over clocking) making me not want to play those games.
Then it upsold Nier Automata as needing nearly no skill... Then I found out there's a 40 minute prologue that's mandatory. Does it sound like I could handle that? What's with game developers not making accessible games?

Or ANSI artists making long ass ANSI's that can't be aborted!!! If the image is bigger than the standard 80x25 BBS screen, then I don't want to see it!!

That should always be optional. It is on my system. It's not the artist,
it's the sysop that should be in charge of that. Also, we pay for games. We don't pay (for the most part) to access BBSes.

When I read those reviews that I sometimes post on SFnet, they usually review accessibility. I am amazed that, while some games apparently come with all sorts of accessibility options, others have few or any. Over the years, I have got the (maybe false) impression that a lot of serious gamers are neuro-divergent so I am surprised when games don't include more accessibility.

The only cost involved with accessing the majority of BBS systems is your ISP or your phone company, depending on how you're connecting.

Especially options for those of us that are color blind, which is VERY common amongst males.

Yes, I am neuro-divergent and suffer from major tremors (Due to decades of anti-psychotics, not Parkinson's). I need cognitive accessibility and motor skills accessibility. The latter is usually handled, the former is not.

    Another good point regarding accessibility.
